The Six Majors

The Seed ⟶ Sun ☌ Moon
I. The Invisible Giant

Every month, the Moon vanishes. It aligns perfectly with the Sun, and in that blinding union, the night sky goes black. This is the New Moon.

When this configuration appears in a Natal Chart (Sun ☌ Moon), it creates a human being who is a closed circuit. The Identity (Sun) and the Instinct (Moon) are fused. There is no distance between "What I want" and "What I need."

This is the aspect of the Seed. A seed is small, hard, and contains an entire forest within it—but it is buried in the dark. The Sun-Moon conjunct person possesses immense potential power, but it is subjective power. They do not reflect the light of others; they generate their own.

II. The Work: Germination

The power of this aspect is Focus. Without the distraction of inner conflict (The Opposition) or inner friction (The Square), the Sun-Moon person can pursue a singular goal with terrifying intensity. They are "Self-Starters" in the cosmic sense.

However, the challenge is Blindness. Because the Sun is covered, there is no light to see the "Other." This person often struggles to understand perspectives that are not their own. They are not necessarily selfish, but they are solipsistic—they live in a universe of one.

The "Work" for the New Moon soul is to break the shell. They must learn that the world exists outside of their own immediate experience. They must learn to plant their seed in the right soil, or they will burn out in the vacuum of their own ego.

III. The Contrast: Friction vs Fusion

To fully understand the silence of the Seed (Conjunction), one must witness the friction of the Square. Where the Conjunction fuses, the Square creates a dynamic engine of difference.

Consider the legendary union of style, soul, and stardust: David Bowie & Iman.

The Sun Square Moon aspect (0.31°) casts its dynamic tension across their connection, reminiscent of the eternal dialogue between day and night. Here, the Sun, the hero's light, challenges the Moon's reflective emotions, creating a relationship that thrives on the friction of differences. This aspect suggests a vibrant interplay of conscious will and subconscious needs, sparking growth through contrast.
